Patriots Preseason Schedule
Week 1 (Aug. 10-14) vs. Jacksonville Jaguars
The Patriots preseasons schedule kicks off with the return of an old nemesis for the Pats. Tom Coughlin is now running the Jags and although this is a preseason game, Coughlin’s teams always like to give the Patriots a tough game. Doug Marrone will have the Jaguars ready to start things off on a positive note even in the preseason.
Week 2 (Aug. 17-21) at Houston Texans
The Patriots will be happy to return to the place where they won the Super Bowl. This game may be a vanilla type of walk through game as Bill Belichick as many connections in the Houston organization including head coach Bill O’Brien. These teams are scheduling joint practices which add just another angle to this preseason tilt.
Week 3 (Aug. 24-27) at Detroit Lions
If there is a game that will get the most attention during the Patriots preseason schedule it is the game against the Lions. The third week of the NFL schedule is when the starters play the most time and usually when the Patriots try to win. A road game against a Lions team with a good offense will be a good test early for this Patriots team.
Week 4 (Aug. 31-Sept. 1) vs. New York Giants
The Giants and Patriots have now made a habit of playing against one another during the preseason. This last game of the preseason will be nothing more than a formality for both of these teams.
