NFL Season Record

We did it again last week with yet another winning week in the NFL. In the first week we went 9-7 and swept the prime time games. We did it again in week 2. It was a close one but we finished at 9-7 once again. The NFL season is a grind and you have to do your best to keep grinding so we will take another wining week.

Our season record is now 18-14 against the spread (ATS).

LA Rams vs San Francisco 49ers

Finally the Thursday night football provides some excitement as at least they feature two teams that are on the rise. We have provided a full write-up and in-depth analysis of this game which can be read in full by following this link. (Spoiler Alert: we were on the right side)

Baltimore Ravens vs Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jaguars are veterans when it comes to taking the trip to England to play football. They have several players that have done this on multiple occasions and they will be prepared for all aspects of the trip. The Ravens will not have the same flexibility. They may also be in a look ahead spot as they play the Pittsburgh Steelers next week. The Ravens have some injuries ot the offensive line which will make them very vulnerable in the London game.

Play on the Jaguars (+3)

Cleveland Browns vs Indianapolis Colts

The first thing that caught everyone’s eye in this game is that the Cleveland Browns are actually road favorites. They have not been a road favorite in three years. There is a good reason for that. The Browns have played tough against two good NFL teams. The Browns outgained Baltimore in the loss last week and they have stellar defensive play. This line is watered down because the Colts actually won a game last week against Arizona. This gives us the edge with the right side and that is the Browns.

Play on the Browns (-2)

Pittsburgh Steelers vs Chicago Bears

This Chicago Bears have been a tough team to figure out. They looked great against the Falcons in week one and then got torched in week two against the Buccaneers. That last blowout as made the Bears big time home dogs against the Steelers. The Steelers have yet to get on track with Bell in the backfield that is still showing some signs of rust since he missed training camp. The Bears do have an impressive defense (3.2 YPC: 9th in the NFL) and they can keep this game close.

Play on the Bears (+7)

Miami Dolphins vs New York Jets

The Miami Dolphins return to the east coast after an impressive game against the Chargers and they run into a Jets team that looks like they may not win a game this year. Is there ever a good time to play on the Jets? Yes, this week. The Jets were embarrassed by the Raiders and running back Marshawn Lynch who was seen dancing on the sidelines. The Dolphins are just 2-5 ATS in the last 7 meetings and the Jets will get on the board with the first win of the season. (But take the points just in case.)

Play on the Jets (+6)

Denver Broncos vs Buffalo Bills

The Broncos are off a blowout win and travel to Buffalo to take on the winless Bills. The Broncos offense is putting up big points and they should win easily right? Nope. The line is telling you something in this game. The Broncos are going to the east coast and playing in the first road game of the season. The Bills can get after the quarterback and will get the win at home and the Broncos will look normal again.

Play on the Bills (+6)

If you are looking for a new place to bet on the NFL week 3, you have to see this sportsbook.

Houston Texans vs New England Patriots

This is one of those games that you should pass on and not bet it at all. The Patriots looked great last week, but they played an awful defense. The Texans had a big win behind a rookie quarterback and have extra time to rest. Bill Belichick is 16-5 straight up and 12-9 ATS against rookie quarterbacks and those rookie signal callers have thrown five touchdowns and 16 interceptions. The Pats have too many injuries and a suspect defense, but since we pick every game against the spread we have to begrudgingly back the champs.

Play on the Patriots (-13.5)

New Orleans Saints vs Carolina Panthers

This is an interesting matchup. The Saints need their first win of the season and the Panthers offense and Cam Newton are looking to get into gear. This game is all about if you believe in the Saints defense or the Panthers offense. Although the Panthers defense has looked great this year (#1 in total defense and scoring defense) that has a lot to do with who they have played. I will take the better quarterback in Drew Brees and the road team in this matchup that is 22-9 ATS in the last 31 meetings.

Play on the Saints (+6)

Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs Minnesota Vikings

This point spread moved drastically when it was announced that Sam Bradford would not be playing quarterback this week and instead it would be Case Keenum. The Vikings went from small favorite to home underdogs. The Buccaneers are still riding a high overreaction wave from the public after they dismantled a Bears team. The Vikings are still one of the best teams in the NFL at home at the betting window. They are 9-0 ATS at home against a team with a winning record and 23-7 ATS in the last 30 games at home overall. The Vikings defense gives the Bucs a dose of reality on offense.

Play on Vikings (+2.5)

Atlanta Falcons vs Detroit Lions

For the third week in a row the Detroit Lions are being undervalued and overlooked. Granted they are off a short week, but the Lions are vastly improved on defense. They are good at creating turnovers and they can get after the quarterback. If the Lions weren’t off a short week, this would be a big play. In his past 15 home contests, Matthew Stafford has averaged 276.6 passing yards with 32 touchdowns and six interceptions. In a duel of two great quarterbacks, the Lions win and show the league that they are for real.

Play on the Lions (+3)

New York Giants vs Philadelphia Eagles

There is something about playing bad on Monday night football that will make the whole world give up on you. The Giants laid an egg against the Lions on prime time and everyone is selling on this team. This is a team full of talent and they have all of the weapons back on offense. They are also making changes at running back and changing up the play calling. The Eagles lost last week, but are still getting a high price because of how well they have started and how poorly the Giants have played. Orleans Darkwa is averaging a robust 5.2 yards and he will get the start in the Giants backfield. The Giants are 10-4-2 ATS in their last 16 games following a double-digit loss at home and they are the only play in this game.

Play on the Giants (+6)

Seattle Seahawks vs Tennessee Titans

People wake up. The Seahawks have problems. They can’t run the ball and Russell Wilson is getting hit and getting hit a lot. Now they have to travel to the East coast for an early start against a defensive minded Titans team. The Seahawks are 1-5 ATS in the last 6 games overall and 0-5 ATS in the last five road games. Titans win. Big!

Play on the Titans (-2.5)

Cincinnati Bengals vs Green Bay Packers

The Bengals are another team that is getting disrespected by the public because of the 0-2 start. There is no doubt that the Packers are better, but not sure they are 8 points better. The Bengals have extra rest and they get a new offensive coordinator to mix things up on offense. One constant in the NFL is that desperate teams play harder. That team is the Bengals. I am not looking for the upset, but the Bengals keep it close.

Play on the Bengals (+8) (by the way this sportsbook has Bengals +9)

Kansas City Chiefs vs LA Chargers

The Chargers are a few yards away from being 2-0, but instead they are 0-2 as they host the Chiefs this weekend. This is a game that the Chargers cannot afford to lose. The Chiefs have won 11 straight in division and six in a row against the Chargers. Get ready for a correction. That makes this game even more vital for the Bolts and Phillip Rivers has completed 74% of his passes this season. Chargers get the first win of the season.

Play on the Chargers (+3)

Sunday Night Football

Oakland Raiders vs Washington Redskins

The Raiders make their second trip of the season to the East coast to go up against the Washington Redskins. The Raiders have yet to lose a game and they are favored to yet again win this prime time game. We circled this game early as one to watch with a preview and pick that can be found here.

Monday Night Football

Dallas Cowboys vs Arizona Cardinals

Two teams meet on Monday night that is looking for their true identity. Are the Cowboys as good as they looked in week one? Are the Cardinals past their prime? This will be a great way to end the week with a great game between two solid football teams. We have a full in-depth preview and pick against the spread on this prime time game here.
