NBA Odds For January 6th

We noticed a weird point spread on Friday night in the NBA, and there is another game that caught our attention on Saturday night. The Denver Nuggets are small (-4) road favorites over the Sacramento Kings. The Kings are just 3-7 against the spread (ATS) in the last 10 games and 12-25 straight up on the season. Yet the Nuggets are only four point favorites? If it looks too good to be true, it usually is….

Golden State Warriors vs LA Clippers

When making the NBA picks for January 6th I have to look at the Golden State Warriors. The Warriors head to LA to take on the Clippers and they seem to enjoy playing on the road. After they beat Houston on Thursday night, they extended their road winning streak to nine games and have won an NBA-best 16 road games this season. This could be a tough game however as the Warriors are playing three games in four nights and all three games were on the road. After this game the Warriors will head home. The Clippers lost to the Thunder snapping a four game winning streak. Even with that loss the Clippers have been a solid bet of late winning 12 of the last 15 games against the spread. The Clippers are 7-3-1 ATS in their last 11 games following a double-digit loss at home and they catch the Warriors in a soft spot in the schedule.

Chicago Bulls vs Indiana Pacers

I usually do not suggest betting on bad teams, but the Indiana Pacers are the exception on Saturday night. They are playing bad, and I mean bad basketball, but the Bulls are not a very good team. Also the Bulls are playing their third game in four nights and their second game of a back to back set after playing at Dallas on Friday night. They struggle in this stadium as they are 2-7 ATS in the last 9 visits to Indiana. The Pacers have lost five straight and they are clinging to the last playoff spot in the East. They cannot afford to lose this game.

Houston Rockets at Detroit Pistons

It took the Rockets one game to realize how much they will miss James Harden. Although they got good point production from Eric Gordon and Gerald Green, they could still not beat the Warriors. Now Chris Paul and the rest of the Rockets hit the road to take on the Pistons. The Pistons will be playing in back to back games, but they still have the edge in this game. The Rockets are playing poorly with a 1-4 ATS record in the last five road games and 1-7 ATS in the last eight games overall. Avery Bradley will provide tough perimeter defense and the Pistons are the play at home.
