The Big Ten Championship game is this weekend and will feature the Wisconsin Badgers vs Nebraska Cornhuskers. These are two teams deserving of some recognition for a winning season, but the biggest story heading into this game are the teams that are not playing in the Big Ten Championship game.
Most notably the Ohio State Buckeyes who defeated Michigan last week and finished with an unblemished record. The undefeated season, the first under new head coach Urban Meyer set the Twitter world abuzz with praise.

However due to some NCAA sanctions the Buckeyes will not play in this game so it is time to focus on the teams that will be playing in this big game.
Wisconsin vs. Nebraska Odds: The betting line on the Big Ten Championship Game opened up with the Cornhuskers as (-3) point favorites. That number has since been bet down to (-2.5) in several places although the early public consensus report shows (55%) of the wagers on Nebraska.
The early betting on Nebraska could be due to the fact that the Cornhuskers beat Wisconsin in the first meeting this season.
The Badgers enter this game with a weak 4-4 conference record to include the overtime loss to Penn State last week. Penn State is ineligible to play for the Big Ten Championship which opened the door for the Badgers despite the loss.
Badgers did not have much motivation going into that game but when they strap on their helmets for the Big Ten Championship at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis they will be out for revenge. They also will be playing for the Amos Alonzo Stagg Championship Trophy and a chance to play in the Rose Bowl Game.
The Badgers had the first game in-hand against the Cornhuskers, but they blew a 17-point lead and the game as they lost 30-27. The Badgers are looking for their 14th Big Ten title and a third straight crown for the first time in school history.
Senior running back Montee Ball, the NCAA’s all-time touchdown leader, enters this game as the powerhouse in Wisconsin’s offense. The Badgers big offensive line will allow Ball to find holes in the Husker’s defense and put points on the board.
The real challenge will be on the Badger defense to stop Ameer Abdullah and all-purpose quarterback in Taylor Martinez.
The big news that could be a game changer is injuries.
During a press conference Badgers coach Bret Bielema sounded hopeful that wide receiver Jared Abbrederis and linebacker Chris Borland should be ready to go. Nebraska however, will be without starting center Justin Jackson (ankle) and defensive tackle Baker Steinkuhler (knee).
This is huge because the center is an underrated position that will be overlooked. AT this point Bo Pelini does not know who will fill in.
The Cornhuskers are 3-8 against the spread (ATS) in their last 11 games after allowing less than 20 points in their previous game. This is a sign that the Huskers will fall flat in this game and the Badgers will win yet another Big Ten title.
