Here is a preview and pick of every NBA game on Christmas Day.
Boston Celtics vs Brooklyn Nets: The new look Nets are serious contenders in the East this year, but if they want to make their mark they need to beat The Boston Celtics on Christmas Day. There is no love lost between these two teams and in the last meeting Celtics guard Rajon Rondo was ejected (video) after a minor scuffle under the hoop. Both teams are struggling coming into this game but the Nets are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games overall, which is tough to back as a favorite.
The Celtics have double revenge and will be poised to take it on the Nets as an early Christmas gift.
New York Knicks vs LA Lakers: The Lakers host the Knicks on Christmas Day in what should be an explosive matchup as Carmelo Anthony and Kobe Bryant are the two top scorers in the NBA. Bryant leads the NBA in scoring this season with 29.7 points per game while Anthony is averaging 28.3 and shooting a career-best 43.7 percent from 3-point range. The Knicks are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games following a win and the home team is 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings. Steve
Nash is back in the lineup for the Lakers and they will exact revenge for an earlier loss.
Oklahoma City Thunder vs Miami Heat: The NBA did not disappoint as they have a NBA Finals rematch for Christmas Day. The Thunder were looking ahead to this game as they lost to the lowly Minnesota T’Wolves. The Thunder are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 vs. Eastern Conference, 6-0-1 ATS in their last 7 games playing on 3 or more days rest, and 12-5 ATS in their last 17 games overall. Kevin Durant puts on a show as the Thunder beat the Heat in the best game of the day.
Houston Rockets vs Chicago Bulls: The Bulls host the Rockets on Christmas Day and they have a system in their favor. The Bulls are 10-0 ATS (8.1 ppg) since February 24, 2011 after a loss in which Joakim Noah had more turnovers than assists. The average win in that situation will be more than enough to cover against the Rockets.
The Rockets are 1-6-1 ATS in their last 8 road games and the Bulls win big for Christmas.
Denver Nuggets vs LA Clippers: Finally in the nightcap the Denver Nuggets travel to play the LA Clippers. The Clippers are having a very good season, but the Nuggets can match them with depth. The Clippers are 0-10 ATS (-6.0 ppg) since March 11, 2012 with at most one day of rest after a game in which they scored more than 30% of their points from the three-point line.
The Nuggets are 10-4 ATS in their last 14 games following a win and the underdog is 4-0 ATS in the last four games.
