The Monday night football game between the Denver Broncos vs. Atlanta Falcons is a potential super bowl preview. Both teams flourished in week 1 with the Broncos beating the Steelers and the Falcons dominated the Chiefs.
In week 2 of the NFL season the Broncos will have a much tougher time as the Falcons are for real and will show it to the world on Monday Night Football.
Denver Broncos vs. Atlanta Falcons odds: The Falcons are listed as (-3.5) point favoritesin this game with the total set at 49. Although the Falcons are the better team the public betting action is on the Broncos. This is due to the
popularity of Peyton Manning and Sports Insights reports that 62 percent of the public is on the Broncos.
That is the first reason to bet against the Broncos but let’s look on the field for the next reason.
The Falcons offense is legit. The new-look pass happy attack by the Falcons will be nearly unstoppable this year and they will be in the same status as the Patriots and the Saints on offense. Denver’s defense will be no match for this and the Falcons will score early and often. Matt Ryan and Julio Jones are the best combination in the NFL today.
The Falcons are 16-5 ATS in their last 21 games after accumulating less than 90 yards rushing in their previous game and 36-13-3 ATS in their last 52 games after allowing more than 150 yards rushing in their previous game.
The Broncos are 6-16 ATS in their last 22 road games against a team with a winning home record and although many of these trends were accrued before Manning it shows vulnerable the Broncos are in this spot. They are not used to winning against good teams and playing under the Monday night lights.
The Falcons win on Monday night and they win big.
