The Monday Night Melee between the Detroit Lions vs Chicago Bears will be a game worth watching. These two teams do not like each other and every time they play one another a fight always breaks out.
Normally in a pick article I will break down the game with odds and trends and then reveal the projected winner at the end of the article, but for the Monday Night Football Game, I am going to try something different.
The Lions will win this game. The latest Detroit Lions vs Chicago Bears odds have the Bears as (-6.5) point favorites, and although I suggest a play on the Lions and the points, take some of that action on the moneyline. Taking a team on the moneyline just means that you think they will win outright, but the payout is much higher.

Currently at BetOnline, the top-rated sportsbook to bet on football, the money line is +230, which is the highest I have found it for this game. So bet it now and don’t wait. Oh yeah I almost forgot, why will the Lions win? It all begins with fading the public and pounding the NFC dogs which have been money in the bank this year.
Checking out the NFL consensus and public money at my favorite line tracking website it is obvious the public is jumping on the Bears in this game. As of the writing of this article, the Bears are getting 60 percent of the public money and the line is climbing with that money.
However the underdogs have been cashing in big time this year.
The underdog has hit 65 percent on the year and NFC teams are even better. NFC teams as underdogs have covered 34 of 38 games against the spread. 34 winners and 4 losers! Here come the Lions ready to roar and they have the momentum of the big come from behind win over the Philadelphia Eagles.
The Lions have attitude again and that is when they win ball games.
Nate Burleson described it best after the win against the Eagles. The Lions are taking the “Us against the world” type of attitude and it is paying off with wins.
“We’re the ones that nobody wants to see succeed, and we like it that way. We play better that way. I think everybody took it in their own hands to be better men off the field, and that followed us a little bit on the field, but I think we’re back where we need to be.”
The Bears have a very good defense but some people think that the Lions offense is struggling. Think again, the Lions are second in the NFL in total offense, only behind the New England Patriots.
Matthew Stafford is finally coming around and playing like the fans expect and Megatron is still the best wide receiver in the NFL. Jay Cutler is playing better with Brandon Marshall but he is mistake prone. The Lions have their swagger back and they will be back in a big way as they show the world on a national stage that they should still be considered Super Bowl contenders.
Detroit Lions vs Chicago Bears: Lions +6.5 and Moneyline Play: Lions +230
