The Fiesta Bowl features two very offensively talented football teams as Kansas State Wildcats vs Oregon Ducks should provide plenty of fireworks. Despite the fact that the Fiesta Bowl has a chance to be one of the best bowl games of the season, it is almost a side story. The real focus up to this point is Oregon head coach Chip Kelly.

Kansas State Wildcats vs Oregon Ducks Odds: The betting line for the Fiesta bowl opened up with the Ducks as (-7) point favorites and that number has jumped to (-8) at several sportsbooks as the public is pounding the Ducks.

Kelly’s name is in the NFL headlines as he has emerged as a front runner for a job at the next level. After passing on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers job a year ago, it looks almost like a given that Kelly will be a NFL coach next year. Kelly has already scheduled a meeting with the Cleveland Browns this weekend, but before heading off for the pro level, Kelly has to focus on Kansas State.

Running back Kenjon Barner is a one man highlight film but he will be challenged by Wildcats linebacker Aaron Brown who will be playing on Sundays next year.

The Ducks are one of the best teams in college football but they have had struggled in bowl games. The Ducks are 2-5 ATS in their last seven non-conference games and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 neutral site games.

The Wildcats are all about the play of quarterback Collin Klein. If Klein is at his best the Wildcats have a realistic chance of winning this game. Klein had 3,380 yards of total offense and 37 combined touchdowns and is a dual threat signal caller that will garner the attention of the Ducks defense.

The Wildcats excel against good teams and have been a good bet for Wildcat backers this season. The Wildcats are 21-6 ATS in their last 27 games after allowing more than 280 yards passing in their previous game, 12-3-1 ATS against a team with a winning record and 18-7-1 ATS in their last 26 games overall.

College football trend of the game:

Fiesta Bowl favorites are 1-5 ATS in the last six years

The real edge in this game is on special teams. The Wildcats led the nation in kickoff and punt returns, combining for more than 50 yards per return. This will set up good field position and allow the Wildcats to score against the Ducks defense.

The Ducks are distracted by the Kelly-to-the-NFL saga and are disappointed they are not playing for the championship. That will show on the field as the Wildcats keep this game close.
