Tom Brady and the New England Patriots are a favorite to represent the AFC East in the Super Bowl and will go up against another potential champion on Monday night Football when they play the Philadelphia Eagles.
These teams will be using a new football introduced by Nike and there is a good chance that it will affect the game from a betting standpoint.

The Eagles are approaching this game much differently than other teams do in the second week of the preseason. Coach Andy Reid will play his starters for the entire first half and maybe even longer against the Patriots, even though it’s only their second exhibition. That’s because the Eagles are the victims of the NFL schedule makers — they play at New England on Monday night and then four days later they play at Cleveland.
The starters have a very good chance of playing into the third quarter and then rookie QB Nick Foles will follow Vick and veteran Trent Edwards will finish the game.
The Patriots also have an issue with the schedule. After wrapping up training camp, they begin a hectic 10-day stretch Monday when they’ll play three games and conduct two joint practices.
Pats Coach Bill Belichick admitted that they will not get in full preparation time for the Eagles.
“It’s a lot less, significantly,” Belichick said. “And they’re going to be playing a lot of people, just like we are, so it’s really more about having a basic understanding of what they do and more of us going out and seeing if we can do what we’ve been practicing.”[poll id="23"]
The Eagles will be more focused on this game and looking to give their starting unit some confidence. The reserves played well in the first game rallying from a 13-0 deficit against the Steelers and will be able to maintain any momentum the first unit will supply.
Tight end Brent Celek and safety Nate Allen both missed the opener but will suit up or this game. Allen explained that the team is very focused on this outing.
“We’re treating it like a regular-season game. We’re game-planning. Got a nice little setup for ‘em. We’re going to be focused all week.”
Because of this focus the Eagles will be ready to play against the Patriots and win easily on Monday night football.
