The 2012-2013 NBA season tips off with three games on Tuesday night highlighted by the game featuring the Boston Celtics and the Miami Heat.
I know that the NFL is king, but when it comes to basketball betting the NBA is my favorite sport. I do very well during the long season. Washington vs Cleveland (BEST BET)
Celtics vs Heat: Picks Against the Spread
Sometimes the best bet is not the best game. The Cavs and the Wizards may not be the best game to watch, but it is a money maker.
John Wall is not in the lineup for the Wizards, but Kyrie Irving will be in the lineup for the Cavs. Irving, who averaged 18.5 points, 5.4 assists and 3.7 rebounds a year ago is ready to lead the Cavs to a winning record.
Nene, whom Washington acquired at last season’s trade deadline in a three-way deal that sent JaVale McGee to Denver, is currently battling plantar fasciitis and it’s unclear when he’ll be ready to play.
That means the Wizards’ starting frontcourt will likely feature new additions Trevor Ariza and Emeka Okafor along with second-year forward Trevor Booker.
It will take a few games into the season for this lineup to gel and the Cavs will take advantage of it with a big win to start the season.
The Wizards are 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games playing on 3 or more days rest and the Cavs cover in the Best Bet of the night.
This is the biggest game of the night as the new-look Celtics face the defending champion Heat with one of their former players. Ray Allen will face his former team since leaving in the off-season as a free agent.
The focus for Miami will be getting their rings and raising banners, the focus for the Celtics will be beating the Heat. The Celtics got much better in the offseason and it went unnoticed because they did not sign a big free agent. They did it by signing key pieces and having one of the best drafts in the NBA.
The Celtics are 8-3 ATS in the last 11 meetings and they have a chance to win this late.
The Lakers made the biggest splash in the offseason by bringing in Dwight Howard. Howard will make his debut against the rebuilding Mavericks.
The Mavericks will be one of the worst teams in the NBA this season and could have a realistic shot of playing in the lottery. The Mavericks are 2-8 ATS in their last 10 against the NBA Pacific and the Laker new “Big 3” will win big!
