NFL Wildcard Predictions for all Four Games

The NFL playoffs are here and it is Wildcard weekend. Sure the college football championship is on Monday, but now it’s time for the NFL. This is the weekend that four great games across two days grace your television screen featuring the best pro football teams in the country. Other writers have put out their bold predictions and picks against the spread for each game, but now it’s my turn. I have all of the NFL Wildcard predictions for all four games this weekend.

Tennessee Titans vs Kansas City Chiefs

I am going to start my NFL Wildcard predictions with this game because it’s the earliest one on the schedule. What do you believe the most? The Titans are the worst teams in the playoffs or the Chiefs will always choke? Whichever you believe may make a difference in who you take in this game. Sure the Titans have played one of the easiest paths to the playoffs and they will be playing this game without DeMarco Murray so it makes sense that everyone is picking the Chiefs. But the matchup is a nightmare for the Chiefs. The Titans run the ball to set up the pass. The Chiefs have the lowest ranked run defense in certain metrics and that will allow the Titans to shorten the game. The Chiefs get more penalties than the Titans who play a disciplined football. Andy Reid crumbles in the playoff spotlight with a 1-6 SU and ATS record in the last seven playoff games.  Sorry Chiefs fans, but the Titans keep this close.

Atlanta Falcons vs LA Rams

We all know this storyline. The Falcons are looking to return to the Super Bowl and the Rams are the new young team looking to make a run. Matt Ryan and his team have all of the experience and the Rams are still under a young coach with a young quarterback. The Rams are the best scoring team in the league and although the Falcons D is impressive the Rams know how to beat it. The Rams defense is sick and they can get after the quarterback. The Falcons have a banged up offensive line and some superstars who are limping into this game. Sure, the Falcons may be able to run against the Rams as the running defense in LA is not any good. However, once the Rams start putting up points this game will quickly get away from Atlanta. LA was not a good home field advantage, but it will be now. This is my favorite of the NFL Wildcard predictions. I agree with some NFL experts in this game, the Rams win big.

Buffalo Bills at Jacksonville Jaguars

The Bills and Jags both break a playoff drought to get into this game. Shady McCoy is hurt but that guy is a beast and he will suit up. The Jags are the better team, especially on defense where they have one of the best pass defenses in the league. The Jags have at least six guys on the defense with a sack, but Tyrod Taylor is mobile. This will make a big difference. I am not saying that Buffalo will win this game, but this is way too many points. Although some NFL experts are buying into the Jags, it’s hard to bet on Blake Bortles and a team that has lost two games in a row.

Carolina Panthers vs New Orleans Saints

The Saints have beaten the Panthers twice already and some would suggest that beating the Panthers three times in a row would be difficult for the Saints. That’s not true at all as teams looking for a third win in this spot is 11-4 straight up and 9-5-1 ATS. The trends would actually indicate that the UNDER is the better play, but I digress. The Saints have one of the best balanced offenses in the league ranking No. 2 in the NFL. Although the Panthers have an incredible defense, in this matchup the Saints have the edge, In the previous two meetings the Saints held Carolina to less than 300 total yards in both games. Michael Thomas will have a break out game and the Saints roll at home behind the throwing of Drew Brees.
