The Philadelphia Eagles were one of the favorites to play in the Super bowl this year, but after a lackluster performance in week 1 against the Cleveland Browns, they would just be happy with a win.
The Baltimore Ravens on the other hand looked like Super Bowl contenders after they demolished the Cincinnati Bengals on Monday night football. Quarterback Joe Flacco looked like he is coming into his own as he was flawless on the night.

The Eagles are still home favorites because they are better than they played in week one. The Eagles made the mistake of gong away from LeSean McCoy and will give him a steady diet of carries in this game to take the pressure off Michael Vick. McCoy is one of the best running backs in the league and he needs to get the rock and although he is going against a tough Ravens defense they proved they could struggle against the 3rd down plays.
The Bengals had several short 3rd down situations early in the game and they converted early and often by going to the run. The Ravens knew they were going to run and could not stop them. The Ravens built a big lead making the Bengals a one-dimensional team as they had to pass on nearly every down. The Ravens built that big lead by exploiting a weak defense of the Bengals.
Not to take credit away from Joe Flacco and his performance, but the Bengals defense was awful. On several occasions the Bengals defense was caught out of place and biting on play- action. With the defense focused on Ray Rice it opened up the passing game, leaving wide open receivers for Flacco. The Eagles defense is much better than that.
The Eagles defense is more disciplined and will stay at home, making it much harder for Flacco to open up the passing game. The talented Eagles secondary will set up Flacco with more complicated coverage’s that will lead to turnovers.
The Ravens are 2-8 against the spread (ATS) in their last 10 games when playing on Sunday following a Monday night game and they will have letdown against the Eagles.
