San Antonio Spurs vs. Miami Heat Game 7 Predictions

Game 6 Let Down?

Game 6 was one for the ages. The Spurs had a six-point lead with seconds left and managed to still lose the game. That kind of loss can take a toll on a team and early indication is that it will hurt the Spurs.

”It was very exhausting all around,” Spurs guard Danny Green said. ”Physically and emotionally and mentally.”

But this Spurs team is a veteran team and led by Tim Duncan, Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili they will be sure to be focused for this finale. In fact this could be the last time that these three players suit up and take to the floor as a team. The talk that the Spurs will be sent for this game is hogwash.

Everyone is Tired

Both teams will be equally beat up after that emotional game. LeBron James played 50 of the 53 total minutes to rally the Heat to the win and then he had trouble standing up at the press conference. Tim Duncan, the 37-year-old Spurs centerpiece, played more than 44 minutes, and even Ray Allen topped 40 minutes for just the second time all season.

James even admitted that he asked coach Erik Spoelstra to use a few of the Heat’s timeouts as the game wore on to try and give him a little extra rest here and there, giving him a precious few moments to catch his breath and gear up for the manic effort on both ends of the floor that it took to bring the Heat all the way back.

Wade Injury Watch

If there is any actual reason for concern it should be the knee of Dwyane Wade which was reinjured when he collided with Ginobili. After banging his knee he did not play well and he did not start the second half because he was still getting treatment. This was his left knee that he had surgery on, not his right knee that is already suffering from deep bruises. He will get treatment and give it a go, but don’t expect to see the usual Dwyane Wade.

Right now everyone is hurting, but its game seven they will all be there and ready to go.

Spurs Have to Play Better

The Spurs did everything wrong in game six. Ginobili had eight turnovers in the game, Parker was an awful 6-23 from the field, the team missed crucial free throws and Danny Green was 1-5 from behind the arc. Despite all of these mishaps the Heat still needed a last minute desperation 3-point shot just to bring the game to overtime. If any of those areas improve the Spurs will not only win this game, but they will win big.

Sharps Are on Spurs

When betting on sports it is always a good idea to be on the same side as the sharp bettors. As the sportsbooks have pointed out, the sharp money is on the Spurs.

“After an instant classic in game 6, we posted the Miami Heat as 6.5 point favorites for game 7. However, significant sharp action moved the line to Miami -6 early this morning. Since the move we have been seeing steady two-way action with 45% of players betting the Heat and 55% of players betting the Spurs. As has been the case for the majority of the series, the book will be pulling for LeBron James (headband or not) and the Miami Heat to win game 7 and keep the title in South Beach.”

Veterans Dine Out

After game 6 the Spurs led by Tim Duncan went out to dinner and discussed some of their worst collapses in their playing history. This is somewhat of a therapy for this team and it will allow them to be focused and ready to go for game seven.

Heat Fans Are Awful

Between the middle finger girl and the half-riot last night as fans bailed on their team in the final seconds, these fans don’t deserve a title. I just had to vent about their horrible fan base, now on to the pick for game seven.

San Antonio Spurs vs. Miami Heat Game 7 Picks

The series is very evenly matched and no team has won two games in a row. The Heat needed plenty of things to go right to win game 6 and it won’t happen in this big outing. Too many people are focusing on the last game and not how good the Spurs are as a team. It will be on display for the whole world to see as the Spurs win game 7 and become NBA Champions!
