The NFC Championship kicks off this weekend in Atlanta, Georgia as the Atlanta Falcons take on the San Francisco 49ers with the winner heading to New Orleans to play in Super Bowl XLVII.
The 49ers trounced the Green Bay Packers behind the rookie running legs of Colin Kapernick to advance to the Championship game for the second year in a row. Meanwhile the Falcons held off the Seattle Seahawks for the right to host this game.

After a slow start by Kapernick, he settled in to have an awesome game especially running the ball. Kapernick will have a tougher time running the ball against the Falcons defense. Although the Falcons were well aware of his mobility it will obviously become a focus of preparation for the defense.
The Falcons will be able to prepare after watching the Packers fail and will be sure to have a spy handy for this big game. More importantly, the Falcons will have home field advantage and no pressure.
Matt Ryan and the Falcons entered the game against Seattle with tremendous pressure due to a poor history of performance in the post season. That is gone after the victory against Seattle. Tight End Tony Gonzalez provided to b the X-factor in the game against Seattle making fantastic catches throughout the game.
The Falcons offense moved the ball at crucial times in the game and will have too much firepower for the 49ers defense. Unlike the Packers, the Falcons can run with Michael Turner and provide a change of pace out of the backfield with Jaquizz Rodgers. This will keep the 49ers defense honest and not allow double coverage on stand out receivers Roddy White and Julio Jones.
The 49ers defense can be scored upon and the 49ers are 0-4 against the spread (ATS) in their last four games after allowing more than 30 points in their previous game.
The Falcons are 3-1-1 ATS when playing a team with a winning record and the underdog is 9-3 ATS in their last 12 meetings.
Now with a home field crowd ready to make things difficult for the opposing team, the Falcons are in position to go the Super bowl.
