With some of the best teams in the country all in one tournament, the Atlantic Coast Conference will get most of the attention this week.
It all starts on Wednesday and it will get plenty of coverage once the complete 2014 ACC tournament schedule is announced. The ACC Tournament Bracket will feature plenty of top ranked teams and Cinderellas looking to run the table and win the championship.
The tournament is set and the ACC Conference Tournament odds are out so the only question left to answer is who will win the 2014 ACC Conference Tournament?
Don’t waste your money
Everyone likes a Cinderella and it is fun to watch a team pull off an upset. However, if you are betting on the ACC Tournament there is no need to waste your money on these teams. Georgia Tech, Boston College, Wake Forest, Florida State, Miami and Notre Dame have no shot to win this tournament.
Despite a Sunday loss to Maryland the Virginia Cavaliers are the No. 1 seed in this tournament. This team is loaded with talent and had a record season. The biggest hurdles to the championship game will be potential;
matchups against the Pitt Panthers and the North Carolina Tar Heels. Before the loss to Maryland, Virginia had not allowed more than 67 points in any contest. During a record 13 game winning streak, the opposition had only reached 60 three times. This team wins with defense. Virginia joins the No. 2 seed Duke Blue Devils and the No. 3 seed Syracuse Orange as the favorites to win the ACC Championship.
The Clemson Tigers and Pitt Panthers have good basketball teams, but the real dark horse in this tournament is the North Carolina Tar Heels. The Tar Heels lost the season finale to Duke but have won 12 out of the last 13 games that they have played. They have struggled on offense but they have the talent to go to the championship game.
And the winner is…..
The odds to win the 2014 ACC Tournament say it all. There are really only three teams that can win this tournament. The Syracuse Orange snapped out of their funk to end the regular season with a win over Florida State, but their offensive problems are glaring and tough to overcome. The Duke Blue Devils have an outstanding offensive game led by freshman Jabari Parker and sophomore Rodney Hood and are potentially a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament.
Duke will beat the Orange in a legendary rematch before going up against North Carolina in the ACC Tournament finals. In the third installment of the best rivalry in college basketball, the Blue Devils will emerge victorious and win the 2014 ACC Championship!
