The World Series of Handicapping is just getting started but already the competition is heating up. The contestants are putting their best picks out each and every week in hopes of becoming the best football handicapper in the world!

WSOH 300x200 World Series of Handicapping: Week 3 Results, Consensus and RecapWeek 3 Recap: Week three saw the emergence of two handicappers as robffl and our resident handicapper JT, playing under the name Bookie Blitz, both went 6-1 on the day. Bookie Blitz hit more of the big unit plays and finished the week with the highest gain of 19.60. Robffl gained 15.40 units on the week with the same 6-1 record to finish as two of the best for the week.

Overall Standings: Despite the big weeks by other players, 3 cardmonte13 holds the top spot with an impressive 15-5-1 record on the season. Petrogia also holds a 15-5-1 record, but has accumulated +40.20 units which is good for second place. The +43.20units by 3 cardmonte13 is the number to beat as he sits in first place all by himself.

Bluenose (11-9-1, +21.10), BookieBlitz (12-9, +21.00), and robffl (13-7-1, +19.10) round out the top five on the current leaderboard. There is still plenty of season left but it is interesting to note that only 12 players in the crowded leaderboard is on the plus side with units won.

Consensus: It should come as no surprise that heading into week 4 of the regular season, the New England Patriots are one of the top bets. The Patriots have 5 votes as a 7 unit play, 6 votes as a 6 unit, and 5 votes as a five unit. A win and cover by the Patriots would be good for the board as a whole.

The 49ers get the second majority of the votes coming in with five contestants betting on the road team to beat and cover against the New York Jets.

There is still plenty of time to go, but the contest is heating up!
