Celtics vs Bucks picks against the spread

The NBA season is back! The league tipped off with the best teams in the west with the Clippers and the Lakers. On Friday night the schedule gets bigger and the focus turns to the best teams in the East which is why we decided to make our Celtics vs Bucks picks against the spread.

Buying the Bucks

The Bucks are the best team in the Eastern Conference. They are talented, hungry and have a NBA MVP in Giannis Antetokounmpo. Because of the talent on this team, the Bucks opened up as (-5) point favorites. That number has dipped slightly as some sportsbooks have the line at (-4.5) as we approach tip-off.

Celtics bandwagon is booming

Everywhere you look the Celtics are being picked as the “surprise” team to go to the NBA finals. Jason Tatum as emerged as a superstar and they have one of the best young coaches in the league in Brad Stevens. This is a deep and talented team, but it is yet to be seen if they are ready to take down Giannis and the Bucks.

Inside the numbers

The public is buying in on the Bucks with over 60% of the wagers on Milwaukee. Although this game is on a neutral court the Celtics have covered 11 of the last 16 games on the road against Milwaukee. The Celtics are deep and that gives them an edge. They do not have an answer for Giannis and instead they will rotate several players to try and limit his scoring output.

Celtics vs Bucks picks against the spread

The depth from the Celtics is important. This makes the difference in the game and in the limited season. They excel as a team, listen to coaching and work with one another. The Bucks have talent but are inconsistent in several areas. This game may not make the season, but for tonight the Celtics are the better team.
