The Hall of Fame Game 2021 Odds

The NFL preseason rarely will have a game with a point spread higher than 3 points. This is because the oddsmakers, like the public, do not know what they will have on the field. If you do enough research, the NFL teams will often reveal the game plan for preseason. Which is something that will never happen in the regular season.

The Cowboys were once 1 point underdogs, but that number is rising. According to the latest NFL odds board, the Steelers are the favorite, but the line is worth watching.

Updated Odds

Dallas Cowboys

The Cowboys will be excited to see quarterback Dak Prescott back under center, but you will not see him in the opener. The Cowboys do not want to see anyone injured in a preseason game, especially Prescott.

They are protecting him with an injury label, to make sure he is ready for the start of the season. He is not the only member of the Cowboys limping into this game.

Pittsburgh Steelers

All eyes will be on Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. Big Ben is under scrutiny for his performance a year ago and many believe he is past his prime. He will have plenty of weapons to help out his cause starting with rookie running back Najee Harris who is a favorite to win the offensive rookie of the year. However, Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin has already revealed that QB Ben Roethlisberger will not play Thursday, as they want to give Dwayne Haskins a chance to prove he belongs in the NFL. Mason Rudolph and Josh Dobbs are currently No. 2 and 4 behind Roethlisberger on Pittsburgh’s depth chart. So this game is about the head man.

When it comes to the Steelers it is all about coaching, since they have one of the best in the league. Mike Tomlin knows how to inspire his team. Coach Tomlin likes to win the preseason. He is 31-23 in his career and has not had a losing record in the preseason since 2016. After that losing season, he went 9-3 in the preseason in the next three years.

It is clear that the Cowboys are going through the motions and want to play it safe. Meanwhile Big Ben has something to prove and Tomlin likes to win the preseason. The Steelers are deeper at QB with players that have had actual experience. The Cowboys don’t want to be here and the Steelers always want to get a “W” even in the preseason.
