Injuries Abound in the Big Game
Both teams come limping into the biggest game of the year. Unless a player is disabled they will do their best to play in the big game. The Chiefs were the first team to get bad news on the injury front.

The Chiefs will miss a big player on the offensive line, but both teams did get some good news. Chiefs running back Le’Veon Bell (knee) and wide receiver Sammy Watkins (calf), are both expected to be ready for the Super Bowl.
Sources tell @diannaESPN that Le’Veon Bell, Sammy Watkins, Antonio Brown and Antoine Winfield Jr. are expected to be healthy for the Super Bowl.
Sources also tell me Jordan Whitehead underwent a shoulder MRI yesterday and they’re taking it day by day. https://t.co/nn7hnkVPJY

The Bucs duo of wide receiver Antonio Brown (knee) and safety Antoine Winfield Jr. (ankle), are all also expected to suit up for their team when they need them the most.
Home Field Overrated
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Tom Brady become the first team to ever host a Super Bowl, but this year that is overrated. True, the Chiefs still have to travel, but the fans will be mostly a split based on tickets sold and the NFL awarding front-line workers. However, the public loves to still bet on home-field advantage even when it does not exist.

Leave Mahomes Alone
The Buccaneers love to blitz and there is no doubt that they will send extra players after Patrick Mahomes, but that is a huge mistake. Mahomes led the league in QBR against the blitz (96.8). Although they have two weeks to prepare asking the Bucs to change their defense is too much to ask.
Betting trends for the biggest game of the year are interesting, to say the least. For example, the favorites have covered two straight and three of the last four. The AFC has dominated this game of late winning and covering five of the last six Super Bowls. Trends can be used (or ignored) by handicappers, but this year it all points to a Chiefs victory.
Super Bowl 55 Picks and Predictions
The Bucs won’t be able to blitz and Travis Kelce deserves an MVP bote or two for what he has done this season. Patrick Mahomes will join Bart Starr, Terry Bradshaw, Joe Montana, Eli Manning, and Tom Brady as the only quarterbacks to win multiple Super Bowl MVPs with an outstanding performance in this game. The Chiefs start slow and pull away with a double-digit victory in Super Bowl 55.
