Thunder vs Lakers pick against the spread

The Lakers look like the best team in the west. After a win against the Utah Jazz, the Lakers clinched the No. 1 seed in the west and now cruise the remaining games in the regular season. So it will be interesting to see how the Lakers prepare for the game against the Oklahoma City Thunder. This just a few of the things that need to be considered before making a Thunder vs Lakers pick against the spread.

Will the Lakers be motivated?

If you are going to bet on this game you have to wonder how motivated the Lakers are. This essentially is a preseason game and it is obvious when you look at the point spread. Winning the No. 1 seed is an obvious goal for this Lakers team. In the past it has paid off with rings.

Anthony Davis had an incredible game against the Jazz and he is averaging 38 points, 10 rebounds and four assists in the two Laker wins. Why would the Lakers risk the health of LeBron James or Davis in a meaningless game?

Thunder has plenty to play for

The Thunder is in a good place. Despite a loss to the Denver Nuggets in the last outing, they still have something to be proud of. Thunder’s Billy Donovan was named co-recipient of the Coach of the Year award and the team is playing surprisingly well. Since Thanksgiving Day, they have earned the most wins in the Western Conference and own the second-best record in the NBA. Now coming off an overtime loss they need to refocus and get a win against the Lakers.

Thunder vs Lakers pick against the spread

The Thunder needs to win this game. They are still in the middle of a heated playoff race and every win matters. The key to betting on this game will be to bet on it early. The line will adjust with news coming out of how long the Lakers let the stars play. There may even be a chance to middle this game, but the time to bet on the Thunder is now.
