Chicago Bulls vs. Golden State Warriors Matchup

Chicago Bulls vs. Golden State Warriors Matchup Preview (11/12/2021)

By Max Heering

The 8-3 Chicago Bulls are playing the 10-1 Golden State Warriors in the game of the night. The Bulls are coming off a 117-107 win against the Dallas Mavericks. Zach LaVine led the Bulls in scoring with 23 points, but DeMar DeRozan was the most impactful player with 17 points, seven rebounds, and six assists. The Bulls went 15-31 from behind the three-point line and 12/14 from the free-throw line.

The Golden State Warriors are the best team in the NBA and the only team left with one loss. They beat the Minnesota Timberwolves 123-110 in their last game. Andrew Wiggins could not be stopped and scored 35 points. He posterized Karl-Anthony Towns twice in that game. Steph Curry also had a great game with 25 points, five rebounds, and six assists. The Warriors were sent to the free-throw line an insane 40 times in that game and made 32 of them. They also outrebounded the Timberwolves 53-41.

Bulls vs. Warriors Predictions

The Bulls have been the surprise of the Eastern Conference, and the Warriors have been the surprise of the Western Conference. Not many people expected the Bulls to be contenders after their last couple of difficult seasons, but after many big offseason pickups, the Bulls have become tough to beat.

The Warriors have been playing without James Wiseman and Klay Thompson, but they cannot seem to lose even with those injuries. The Bulls will give the Warriors a run for their money, but it will not be enough.

The Warriors have the top defense in the NBA and a top-five offense. Steph Curry cannot be stopped, and Draymond Green, Jordan Poole, and Gary II have been dominant on the defensive end. This will be an entertaining game to watch. Bet on the Warriors.

My Prediction: Warriors 113, Bulls 109.

Toronto Raptors vs. Philadelphia 76ers Matchup Preview

Toronto Raptors vs. Philadelphia 76ers Matchup Preview

By Max Heering

The 6-5 Toronto Raptors will be playing the very injured Philadelphia 76ers on the road on Thursday. The Raptors have been playing well, even if they do not have any All-Stars on the team. They lost their last game to the Brooklyn Nets 116-103 at home. Fred VanVleet led the Raptors in scoring with 21 points and threw in eight assists. The Raptors played well but lost the game because of their three-point shooting. The Nets went 17/38 from behind the three-point line, compared to the Raptors’ 7/30 from behind the three-point line.

Read all of our NBA previews and predictions against the spread for the biggest games of the week!

The 8-4 Philadelphia 76ers lost their last game to the Milwaukee Bucks 118-109. They are very injured and played without Seth Curry, Matisse Thybulle, Tobias Harris, Ben Simmons, and Joel Embiid in their last game. However, even with all of those injuries, the 76ers still put up a fight. Tyrese Maxey scored 31 points in 39 minutes in his best effort to propel his team to a win. The 76ers shot the ball eight more times than the Bucks but only made 40.3% of their field goals compared to the Bucks 46.3%.

Raptors vs. 76ers Predictions

If the 76ers were playing at full-strength, this game would not be close. However, they are playing very far from full-strength, which gives the Raptors an edge. The Raptors may not have the most talented roster in the league, but they can be hard to beat. They are also not dealing with notable injuries and have a good leader in Fred Van Vleet. I do not think this game will be very exciting, but if you are going to be on it, bet on the Raptors.

My Prediction: Raptors 103, 76ers, 96.

Miami Heat vs. Los Angeles Lakers Matchup

Miami Heat vs. Los Angeles Lakers Matchup Preview (11/10/2021)

By Max Heering

The 7-3 Miami Heat will be facing the 6-5 Lakers in Los Angeles tonight. The Heat are coming off a dramatic 113-96 loss to the Denver Nuggets. The Heat’s Markieff Morris and Nuggets’ Nikola Jokic were suspended in the final minutes of that game after they exchanged blows. Jimmy Butler was by far the most productive player on the Heat in their last game. He finished with 31 points, eight assists, and five rebounds. Bam Adebayo also contributed with a 10 point, ten rebound double-double. The Heat were outrebounded in that game, and, as a result, put up 13 fewer shots.

Read all of our NBA previews and predictions against the spread for the biggest games of the week!

The Los Angeles Lakers have struggled without Lebron James. Their scoring has taken a dip without the presence of “The King”. They beat the Charlotte Hornets 126-123 in overtime in their last game. Anthony Davis, Russell Westbrook, and Carmelo Anthony had big games and propelled the Lakers to the win. Anthony Davis led the Lakers in scoring with 32 points, but Russell Westbrook was more impactful. He had a 17 point, 14 assists, 12 rebound triple-double.

Heat vs. Lakers Prediction

The Heat are playing with an almost healthy roster. Victor Oladipo is injured, but all of the Heat’s other big pieces are healthy. The Lakers, on the other hand, are playing without Talen Horton-Tucker, Kendrick Nunn, Trevor Ariza, and Lebron James. Lebron James has proven year after year that he is the x-factor on every team he plays on. When the x-factor is injured, everything is up in the air. Victories against bad teams are not so locked. Victories against good teams, like the Heat, are really hard to come by.

It helps that the Lakers are playing at home, but it will not be enough. The Heat will win this game handily.

My Prediction: Heat 115, Lakers 102

Milwaukee Bucks vs. Philadelphia 76ers Matchup

Milwaukee Bucks vs. Philadelphia 76ers Matchup Preview (11/09/2021)

By Max Heering

In a particularly light Tuesday NBA slate, the 4-6 Milwaukee Bucks will be playing the 8-2 Philadelphia 76ers on the road tonight in Philadelphia. The Bucks have struggled to string some wins together and lost their last game 101-94 to a pretty good Washington Wizards team. Giannis Antetokounmpo was a man on a mission in that game. He ended with 29 points and 18 rebounds in 39 minutes. Grayson Allen also contributed 19 points in 34 minutes. The Bucks struggled at the free throw line only hitting 10 of 18 free throws in that game.

Read all of our NBA previews and predictions against the spread for the biggest games of the week!

The Philadelphia 76ers are first in the Eastern Conference with their 8-2 record. They beat the Chicago Bulls 114-105 in their last game. They have been dealing with a lot of injuries and only eight players logged minutes in that game. Joel Embiid was a star and had 30 points and 15 rebounds. Furkan Korkmaz also had 25 points off the bench. It is worth noting that the 76ers went 13/26 from behind the three-point line.

Bucks vs. 76ers Predictions

The Milwaukee Bucks have been playing without Khris Middleton and Brook Lopez for the last couple games and have been noticeably worse without them. The 76ers also have been dealing with a lot of injuries. They will play without Matisse Thybulle, Tobias Harris, Ben Simmons, and possibly Danny Green tonight.

I expect the 76ers to outmatch the Bucks at home. They are very injured, but they have been playing well, anyway. I do not know if it is sustainable for the whole season, but it has been working so far and will continue to work tonight. The Bucks will keep it close, but will not be able to win, because they have not figured out how to win in their current situation.

My Prediction: 76ers 102, Bucks 97.

Atlanta Hawks vs. Utah Jazz Matchup

Atlanta Hawks vs. Utah Jazz Matchup Preview (11/09/2021)

By: Max Heering

The 4-6 Atlanta Hawks will have a difficult road matchup in the 7-3 Utah Jazz. They are coming off a  tough 121-117 loss to the Phoenix Suns. The Hawks offense played well in the loss with five players scoring double-digits points. Trae Young was a stud in that game with his 31 points and 13 assists. John Collins also had a double-double with his 26 points and 10 rebounds. The Suns shot the ball just a little bit better than the Hawks to win the game.

Read all of our NBA previews and predictions against the spread for the biggest games of the week!

The Utah Jazz are second in the Western Conference with their 7-3 record. They surprisingly lost to the rebuilding Orlando Magic on the road 107-100 in their last game. Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert both scored 21 points in that game. The Jazz really struggled from behind the three-point line only hitting 8 of 42 three-point attempts.

Hawks vs. Jazz Predictions

I think the Hawks will start stringing some wins together soon, but it will not start tonight. They are playing a Jazz team that has an uncanny ability to win regular season games. This is most evident in their 52-20 record last season (the best record in the NBA).

The simple fact of the matter is that the Hawks defense is struggling to limit opposing offenses’ scoring. This Hawks team has shown that they know how to score at will, but they need to figure out how to stop other teams from scoring at will. The Jazz, on the other hand, cannot score with as much ease as the Hawks, but they have a top defense in the NBA led by defensive anchor Rudy Gobert. The Jazz will win because their defense knows how to make stops.

My Prediction: Jazz 105, Hawks 100

Brooklyn Nets vs. Chicago Bulls Matchup

Brooklyn Nets vs. Chicago Bulls Matchup Preview (11/08/2021)

By Max Heering

This will be the most exciting game of the night. The 6-3 Brooklyn Nets and 6-3 Chicago Bulls are entertaining teams with electric offenses. The Brooklyn Nets are coming off a surprisingly close 96-90 win against the struggling Detriot Pistons. Kevin Durant led the Nets in scoring with 29 points. He also had ten rebounds and five assists. James Harden did not score a lot with 13 points, but he had a triple-double with ten rebounds and ten assists.

The Chicago Bulls are coming off a 114-105 loss to the Philadephia 76ers. In that game, Zach Lavine could not stop and led the Bulls in scoring with 32 points and added nine rebounds. DeMar DeRozan also had 25 points in 35 minutes. The Bulls played well but went 7/24 from behind the 3-point line compared to the 76ers, who went 13/26 from behind the 3-point line.

Read all of our NBA previews and predictions against the spread for the biggest games of the week!

Nets vs. Bulls Predictions

The Brooklyn Nets are still playing without the unvaccinated Kyrie Irving. The Nets are good without him but great with him. The Nets at full strength would beat this Bulls team eight out of ten times. Unfortunately, it appears that Kyrie Irving will not play this season, so we will probably not see this Nets team play at full strength this season.

The Bulls have two distinct advantages over the Nets. The obvious one is that they have a home-court advantage. The less obvious one is that they do not have a game the night before. The Nets, unlike the Bulls, are playing the Toronto Raptors on Sunday, so they will be playing on short rest. I am probably in the minority, but I believe the Bulls will win behind a strong team performance. This game will be close and come down to the wire, but the Nets will pull it out.

My Prediction: Bulls 101, Nets 96.

Charlotte Hornets vs. Los Angeles Lakers Matchup

Charlotte Hornets vs. Los Angeles Lakers Matchup Preview (11/08/2021)

By Max Heering

The Charlotte Hornets have been one of the surprises of the NBA season. They do not have a strong defense, but they have a quick and fast offense led by LaMelo Ball and Miles Bridges. They also have veteran Gordon Hayward guiding them. The Hornets are coming off a crushing 140-110 loss to the Sacramento Kings. They were outshot entirely by the Kings in that game. LaMelo Ball scored 24 points with 13 assists, and Gordon Heyward led all Hornets in scoring with 25 points.

The 5-5 Los Angeles Lakers have struggled to hit their stride. They have been playing without Lebron James, and it has been noticeable. In addition, they are coming off a 105-90 loss to the Portland Trail Blazers. The whole Lakers team struggled to score in that game, and no player scored 15 points or more. Their veteran team has not figured out to get it together and string some wins together.

Read all of our NBA previews and predictions against the spread for the biggest games of the week!

Hornets vs. Lakers Predictions

Both of these teams are playing games on Sunday, so they will not be well-rested. In addition, the Hornets and Lakers are not known for playing a lot of defense. The difference is that the Hornets are a young team with a quick offense that shoots the ball a lot. On the other hand, the Lakers are the oldest team in the NBA with a slower-paced offense.

This game will have very little defense and will be a shootout. The team that will win will be the team that shoots better. That team will be the Hornets. The Hornets will also have to push the pace and outrun the Lakers. There is a very clue blueprint to beating this Lebron Jamesless Lakers team.

My Prediction: Hornets 115, Lakers 100.

Minnesota Vikings vs. Baltimore Ravens

Minnesota Vikings vs. Baltimore Ravens Matchup Preview (11/07/2021)

By Max Heering

The 3-4 Minnesota Vikings have shown flashes of dominance this season but have also really struggled to score. Last week, they struggled to score. They lost 20-16 to a Dallas Cowboys team without Dak Prescott. Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins threw for only 184 yards and one touchdown. The Viking’s defense gave up a lot of yards but also had three sacks and one interception.

It is tough to read the 5-2 Baltimore Ravens. They have an excellent record but are coming off a devastating 41-17 loss two weeks ago to the Cincinnati Bengals. The Raven’s offense mightily struggled scoring touchdowns and ended up punting six times. Quarterback Lamar Jackson only completed 15 of 31 passes and only threw one touchdown. However, the Ravens defense was the real story in this game. They allowed Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow to throw for 416 yards and three touchdowns. They also allowed running backs Joe Mixon and Samaje Perine to each rush for one touchdown and a combined 111 yards.

Viking vs. Ravens Predictions

This game could go either way, but I am going to give the Ravens the upper hand. They are playing at home, and I expect Lamar Jackson to bounce back after his last game and use his rest from his bye week. The Vikings are also just far too inconsistent to count on to beat a team like the Ravens. Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins has shown moments of solid play but a lot more moments where he cannot handle the pressure.

This game will not be a blowout. The Vikings will keep it close, and there will be a fair bit of punting. But, Lamar Jackson will step up when it matters most and win the game for his team.

My Prediction: Ravens 24, Vikings 17, Ravens Cover, Under 50 Points

Buffalo Bills vs. Jacksonville Jaguars Matchup

Buffalo Bills vs. Jacksonville Jaguars Matchup Preview (11/07/2021)

By Max Heering

The Buffalo Bills have proven themselves as one of the best teams in the league. They are 5-2 after coming off a 26-11 win against the Miami Dolphins. Bills quarterback Josh Allen threw for two touchdowns and rushed for two touchdowns in that game. Cole Beasley also had ten receptions for 110 yards. However, the Bills defense was the real story of the game. They limited the struggling Dolphins’ offense to only 11 points. Safety Jordan Poyer could not be stopped with his nine tackles and one interception.

On the other side, the Jacksonville Jaguars cannot do much right. They are 1-6 after their embarrassing 31-7 loss to the Seattle Seahawks. Jaguars’ rookie quarterback Trevor Lawrence struggled a lot, throwing 32 receptions on 54 pass attempts. He managed to throw one touchdown, but he also threw one interception.  The Jaguars running back duo of Carlos Hyde and James Robinson also could not get much going. They ended with a combined 54 rushing yards.

Bills vs. Jaguars Predictions

Let’s be honest. This is not the Jaguars year. First-year head coach Urban Meyer has struggled to adjust to the NFL game and has already dealt with scandal in his young NFL career. Rookie quarterback Trevor Lawrence has also struggled to adjust to the NFL. He has a high ceiling, but it will take some time for him to hit it.

The Bills are in a completely different position than the Jaguars. They have all the pieces they need and are trying to make a championship run right now. The Jaguars do not stand a chance against this Bills team. The Jaguars are just too outmatched. They are going to be crushed by the Bills, and the Bills will cover the 14.5-point spread.

My Prediction: Bills 35, Jaguars 14, Bills Cover, Over 48.5 Points

Los Angeles Lakers vs. Portland Trail Blazers

Los Angeles Lakers vs. Portland Trail Blazers Matchup Preview

By Max Heering

The Los Angeles Lakers have had a rough start to the season. They are 5-4 after their 107-104 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Thunder are going through a rebuild, and their two wins have both come against the Lakers. The Lakers played without LeBron James last night but still had three players score over 20 points. The problem was that those three players (Anthony Davis, Russell Westbrook, and Carmelo Anthony) scored 77 combined points and accounted for a whopping 74% of their team points. On the other side, the Portland Trail Blazers are 3-5 after their 107-104 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers. Damian Lillard led all Blazers in scoring with 26 points. However, CJ McCollum might have had a more impressive game than Lillard. McCollum had 21 points, seven rebounds, and six assists.

Read all of our NBA previews and predictions against the spread for the biggest games of the week!

Lakers vs. Trail Blazers Predictions

The Trail Blazers are very healthy right now, and the Lakers are dealing with a rash of injuries. The most notable injured player is LeBron James. The Trail Blazers will have a much easier matchup without facing LeBron James. This Lakers team has not proven that they can win without their superstar yet. That has been most evident with their two losses against the Thunder.

The Trail Blazers will still have a tough matchup even though the Lakers do not have Lebron James tonight. They will have to push the pace against this veteran Lakers squad and use their age as an advantage. Damian Lillard is a great playmaker and has shown that he can pass the ball well. He will need to continue doing that tonight to overwhelm the Lakers defense. The Trail Blazers have a chance tonight to regain some momentum after their tough toss to the Cavaliers. I expect them to take full advantage of that.

My Prediction: Trail Blazers 108, Lakers 103.
