In 2014 McGregor beat Poirier with a first-round TKO. During the rematch, seven years later it was Poirier who won with a second-round TKO of McGregor. With bad blood and a contentious feud between the two, this sets up for an incredible fight. This fight will be more than just talk.

This feud extends outside the octagon as McGregor declined to pony up $500K to charity after the last fight.
That’s a fun prediction! @TheNotoriousMMA you also predicted a donation to my foundation and you and your team stopped responding after the fight in January.
See you soon.

It is very tempting to take Conor as an underdog, but the smart money in this match is on Poirier. Both are heavy hitters and they are very familiar with one another, which will make this a very strategic battle. It is clear that although McGregor is an incredible showman, he is decline. The edge goes to a confident Poirier who knows that he can beat McGregor. These two fighters rarely go the distance, look for a TKO in an explosive battle won by Poirier.
