Big Ben Watch
The Steelers are undefeated and at home for this game, so it comes as no surprise that they are favorites. The public is betting Pittsburgh at a 54% clip, but that is minimal due to the possible injury of Ben Roethlisberger. The spread is currently sitting steady at seven points leading up to game time. That may change closer to kick-off as it is announced that Ben will play as some 6.5 spreads are popping up now.

Well-rested Washington
The Steelers have had to deal with a scheduling nightmare of late and that has given Washington extra-rest coming into this game. This is the first time since 1968 that a team on four or fewer days rest will play a team on at least 10 days. This gives an edge to Washington in this game. Pittsburgh has an incredible defense, but so does Washington. Washington’s defense is fourth in the NFL in total yards allowed; this includes being second in passing and 15th against the run. This gives Washington a real chance to keep this game close.
Washington vs Steelers Picks
Pittsburgh can beat this Washington defense, but they have to do something that they have not been able to do all year. Throw the ball deep. Steelers receivers average an NFL-low 10.23 yards per catch and that will have to change against a defense that has allowed an NFL-worst six catches of 50-plus yards. Washington can run the ball against a Steelers defense that gives up 4.4 yards per carry and will be short-handed at the linebacker position. The Steelers are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games in December and the Washington Football Team is 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games following a straight-up win. Pittsburgh is officially on upset alert.
