It was only a matter of time. This trade was inevitable. Reading the headline “Jamal Adams traded to Seattle” is not shocking to anyone. Although Jets fans have to be upset to say the least. 

The disgruntled defensive superstar has been outspoken for months. He trashed everyone that he could find and begged for the team to trade him. 

Most recently Adams blasted head coach Adam Gase and for the organization that was the last straw. Although Adams had previously said he wanted to play with the Dallas Cowboys, the Jets were not eager to meet his demands.  

The Jets have agreed to trade their disgruntled star safety, along with a 2022 fourth round-pick, to the Seattle Seahawks in exchange for safety Bradley McDougald, a first-round and third-round pick in 2021, and a 2022 first-round pick.

The Jets lost their best players. They sent a message to the fans that Gase is more important and that will not go over well with the feisty fan base. 

On the other hand, the Seahawks vastly improved on defense. Adams is a leader on the field and arguably the best defender in football.

Jamal Adams has the most sacks (11), hits (11), hurries (27), and total pressures (49) among all NFL defensive backs since joining the league in 2017.

This move makes the Seahawks true Super Bowl contenders.

It’s official. The headlines all read “NFL preseason cancelled”. The NFL agreed with its players’ union on  a coronavirus-testing program and exchanged they eliminated the NFL preseason. That is good for various reasons, but it is also bad and in the case of the person that likes to bet on football? Ugly. 

The Good

This is good for the players. Less games and less wear and tear on the players bodies. That is good. 

It is also good (to an extent) for the fans. Game three of the NFL preseason is the only game worth watching. The other ones are usually one good for about a quarter before they become boring and tough to watch. 

The Bad

NFL preseason cancelled. Those words are something that all players did not want to hear. Rookies, undrafted free-agents and injured players can use the preseason. 

Rookies need a chance to get to know their new team. This includes veterans on new teams like Devin Funchess who needs extra time to get in sync with Aaron Rodgers and the Packers. Undrafted free agents need to show that they deserve to be signed by impressing in a live action setting.

Don’t Buy Boston

Boston has a very deep team and they are very good. The Boston Celtics odds are 14-1 to win an NBA Championship. Only the Bucks have better odds to win it all (+275). The Celtics are an enticing wager at that price, but the chances that they get out of the East are slim. If they manage to get out of the East beating Anthony Davis and LeBron James is a very tough task. The Celtics are a very popular bet and that is not usually a good thing. Stay away from Boston.
