However, that is because the offense is still learning how to function as a unit. Rookie QB Trevor Lawrence is still learning and although he has his share of turnovers, he is improving in every game.

Although it is in prime-time, the Bengals will look past the Jaguars. Cincinnati is a team that is playing better than they actually are. The Jags have a young and athletic defensive front that can slow down the run and put pressure on Joe Burrow. The Bengals are just 1-5 ATS in the last six games after a win and they are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games after allowing less than 90 yards rushing in their previous game.

The Dangerous Dog

The dangerous dog is an underdog that can win outright, regardless of the point spread. 

There are several good teams that have the underdog label this week. The undefeated Raiders are underdogs on Monday Night Football. The Ravens and the Cardinals get the underdog tag on the road against very good teams. However, the one team that you have to keep an eye on is the Minnesota Vikings.

The Vikings won a week ago as home dogs to the Seattle Seahawks. Yet after a dominating win by the Cleveland Browns over lowly Chicago, the odds have Baker Mayfield and the Browns listed as a one-point favorite on the road. 

The Vikings have been in every game this season and arguably could have more wins if not for a few bad bounces and missed field goals. During the second half against the Seahawks, the Viking’s defense finally put it all together. 

The Vikings are an incredible home underdog, posting a 19-6-1 against the spread (ATS) record and the Browns have only covered 3 of the last ten games as a favorite. The Vikings are the dangerous dog this week.

Tom Brady is beatable. The Rams showed how to take down Brady as they snapped his streak of scoring 30 or more points. The Patriots defense has impressed this season and they can force the Buccaneers to settle for field goals. Bill Belichick has been waiting for this rematch and he will flex his skills in this chess match. If there is one spot that the Patriots thrive, it’s the underdog role. The Patriots are 11-5 ATS as an underdog and 9-2 ATS as a home underdog. The Pats make Mac Jones comfortable in a shorter offensive scheme and they pull off an upset and send Brady home.

Hurts So Good

Jalen Hurts is an exciting young quarterback leading the Eagles, but he has had two very different games. During the first game, he looked very efficient, but against the 49ers he struggled to move the ball and put points on the board. Remove one play last week and he had only 99 passing yards. This gets more concerning when you see that the Eagles have failed to cover six of the last seven road games that they have played in.

Counting on the Cowboys

You never know what you are going to get with the Cowboys, but they pulled a very impressive road win against the Chargers. Dak Prescott is back but has been inconsistent at times as the offense adjusts. Prescott is just 2-5 against the spread (ATS) in his last seven starts, but five of those games went over the total. With a weakened Cowboys secondary this game has the potential to be high scoring.

Eagles vs Cowboys Pick

The Cowboys are America’s team because they are very popular. This is true at the betting window as well as over 69% of the handle and 63% of the bets are on the Cowboys. The negative trends surrounding the Eagles are based off the bad teams they have fielded in the past. They are a vastly improved team this season.

The Cowboys are 0-5 ATS as a home favorite and are a dangerous bet at over a field goal. To make matters worse the Cowboys are 5-11 ATS in the last 16 Monday Night Football games. Hurts will rebound for the Eagles and rookie Davonte Smith will make a big splash on a big stage in his MNF debut.

The Eagles are 6-2 ATS in the last eight games after a loss in which they failed to cover the spread. Betting the Eagles is the way to go and don’t be surprised if they win this game straight outright with a big Monday Night upset.

Packers Are Back

Saints vs Patriots Pick

When the point spread first came out on this game, many believed the oddsmakers were just putting a (-3) on this game and waiting for the action to move it. That it did as the money came in on the Saints and several sportsbooks now have the Patriots down to (-2.5).

The Bengals are vastly improved but they have had a tough time winning away from home. The Bengals have only one road victory in the last 17 road games. It is even harder for Joe Burrow and the Bengals to succeed against Pittsburgh. The Steelers own a 24-11-1 ATS advantage in the series.

The Steelers have ruled out TJ Watt, but Pittsburgh won’t need him against Joe Burrow and a Bengals offensive line that has allowed 10 sacks on the season. The odds moved due to injuries, but it won’t matter in this game.

The college football odds are the first thing that a bettor will look at before placing a bet on the game. One look at this spread and it will seem out of whack. Limping Texans

The Saints are a hard team to figure out. They start the season with a resounding win over the Packers only to be crushed in the next game against the Panthers. When a team struggles to find consistency early, it may be difficult to post odds. This week, New Orleans travels to New England to play the Patriots. The Patriots recently defeated the Jets, but that is not that impressive, considering that the Jets are rebuilding. 

Vegas had no other choice, but to label the Patriots a (-3) point favorite. However, this point spread is based more on the Patriots past performance than the current status. Mac Jones is still a rookie and Sean Payton will have the Saints ready to play after a humiliating loss. The value at this point is on the Saints according to the early lines.
